How it works:
The hollow rubber spring is the main component of the Maxi-Load suspension upgrade kit. This is not a simple solid rubber piece like standard bump stops, but an engineering masterpiece. The spring rate and progressiveness are achieved through a carefully designed set of critical dimensions. The key dimensions influencing performance are the height (H1), outer diameter (OD1), and inner diameter (ID3). Additionally, the difference between the two chambers (H2, H3, ID1, ID2) plays an important role. The result is characteristics impossible to achieve with a single leaf spring or coil spring: progressive (variable) spring rate, self-damping through hysteresis, and perfect vibration isolation. But that is not all, because once you have selected the hollow rubber spring suited to your vehicle, its behavior can be fine-tuned using different spacers (dimension T); determining the moment (or phase) at which the auxiliary spring should engage — for example, at no load or half load — according to your preference.
