MAD air suspension is in most cases designed to work with the car's original rear suspension. It is also available with a compressor and pressure gauge so you can adjust the desired pressure yourself even during the journey. You will get the best results if the air bellows are installed with a compressor. This allows you to adjust the air pressure in your bellows with a simple push of a button inside the car's cabin, but you also avoid the risk of damaging the bellows with too high or too low pressure by constantly keeping an eye on the pressure you have.
Air suspension has the advantage of being able to have a different hardness in the right and left bellows, which can be a big advantage if, for example, you have more load on one side of your vehicle. Air suspension can also generally support heavier loads than a steel spring, but it should be noted that an air spring does not work well under constant heavy load, so in these cases, for example, a robust steel spring would be preferable.
